A 13 man Volleyball team will depart today for the ECOWAS games in Abuja, Nigeria.
The delegation is comprised of 11 players and 2 officials.
The games have been slated from September 3-12 in which 16 Africa countries will participate.
6 sporting associations was expected to represent the nation but because of lack of funding only volleyball association made the trip. Speaking to Awoko Sports before their departure the assistant coach of the Association Sorie Kamara said they are very delighted to be chosen to represent the country in the tourney, and they are poised to do their level best.
Sorie Kamara also indicated that even though they are making their international debut, he has full confidence in the squad that they would make a mark in Abuja in order to gain international recognition.
The delegation comprises of Sanpha Kamara- Captain Saiba Njai Manso Kamara, Mohamed Bawoh, Osman Jalloh, Ibrahim Tuba Kamara, James Conteh, James Langi, Mani Kono Mani, Patrick Lombi, Mohamed L. Bangura, Mohamed Vangahun-head coach, and Sorie Kamara- Assistant coach
