The coaching course expert Richard Shepherd yesterday disclosed to Awoko Sports that after the level two coaching course Cycling sports will develop in the country as those who will be going through this coaching course are going to be very good coaches.
Richard went further that he was impressed with the performances of the participants as from the first day of the course they were able to live up to what was expected of them.
He also mentioned that this particular course is going to help the two cyclists and the coaches that will be representing the country in the commonwealth games as they have learned new skills and techniques that will help them during the games.
Richard also went further to explain to the participants that in road cycling, climbing and descending is very important to the cyclists and as a coach you need to look ahead and assess the gradient of the climb if there is any obvious gradient before the cyclists climb up the hill.
He also stated that before the cyclists descend the hill as a coach you need to assess the length, gradient, visibility and surface conditions. Richard also stated that to climb a hill cyclists will have to use different kind of gears that will be suitable to the cyclists.
The course continues today with both theory and practical session.
