The Political Parties Registration (PPRC) has inaugurated the political party’s code of conduct and monitoring committee at the forest industries canteen in Kenema.
The chairman of PPRC Justice Sydney Warne addressing representatives of civil society groups and various political parties said the function of PPRC is not only to register political parties but also to supervise the conduct of the various parties, to ensure that political parties have office and workable executive in all provincial headquarter towns and to look into their finances to make sure that there is no foreign money pouring in to support any party. He said that political parties should write letters of notification to the police and paramount chief one week ahead for any meeting or procession.
He said the code of conduct gives free access to all political parties and prevents violence.
