Redcoat rebrands to UPS

Leading shipping and airfreight company, Redcoat Courier Service has now been taken over by the world’s largest package delivery company: United Parcel Service (UPS).
To venerate the amalgamation, Kamino Redcoat and UPS on Thursday, organized a float parade to officially launch its new partnership.
During the carnival-like float parade, stunning damsels clad in the new partnership promo outfit dashed out promotional items as they plied through their parade routes.
Officially opening the new Sanders Street head office, the accountant general, Cyprian Kamaray while cutting the tape maintained that, “this is a symbolic moment today as we are all here to witness the launching of UPS in Sierra Leone, first of all I must congratulate Redcoat for bringing UPS to Sierra Leone… you are all wonderful people and you have done a wonderful job.”
Speaking with the managing director, Sahr HW Ngegba, he disclosed that the top floor of the new head office at Sanders Street was purely for administrative purposes, noting that “downstairs is an ordering shop where one can order various items from overseas”.
The managing director disclosed that when ordering, one only needed to pay the book price, noting that “the only extra charge is the shipping cost”.
“We are certainly not going to be the most expensive and we are not going to be the cheapest either because we provide efficient service… we have a cost margin we never go above, we believe in volume and that’s what we are going to push forward,” Mr Ngegba said.
UPS, Mr Ngegba averred, “…has a huge investment profiling in West Africa,” adding that “the first quarter of this year alone UPS has launched in 11 African countries,” pointing out that “by the end of the second quarter UPS would have covered all over Africa.”
Disclosing reasons behind the merger, the managing director noted that they had been sub-agent for UPS for several years, adding that for the past two years Kamino Redcoat had done tremendous job in courier service and as such had seen reasons to merge.
Redcoat, which has been operating since 1975, was first incorporated in UK as an air cargo service and later expanded into sea and land logistics worldwide.
Redcoat, the acknowledged specialist in courier service in Africa, offers unbeatable value worldwide for every kind of cargo commodity, regardless of size, by air, land or sea; to get the most economical rate or the fastest possible delivery time.
