Fifteen suspects are in police custody for riotous conduct and malicious damage of private property. According to the Community Relations Department (CRD) officer, PC 10322 Kamara B.J.P, the suspects who were in riotous mood were rounded up last night by police personnel in the city centre.
He said, “the police are still investigating the matter”.
Reports state that supporters of the APC were yesterday evening jubilating on the street along Hangha Road shouting “tomorrow, tomorrow”, meaning that the APC and PMDC leaders would be in Kenema the next day.
They were parading in front of the SLPP office that is located on the main Hangha Road.
Reports alleged that one of the APC supporters called, Pastor whose resident is opposite the SLPP office, put Ernest Bai Koroma’s portrait facing the SLPP office.
Some of the SLPP supporters also came out and started praising their leader, vice president Solomon Berewa.
Confusion ensured between both parties which led to the destruction of market places at Humunya Avenue, Coker Jah Street and a place known as Bicycle Field.
