GLRA ready to explore health ministry

During a visit to the minister of health and sanitation, Dr Soccoh Kabia, a two-man delegation from the German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA) said it wanted to do an assessment on how to assist the government and the ministry.
The leader of the team who is also the head of the medial social project, Dr Adolf Diefenhardt, spoke about the significance of the TB programme and also the need to look at the HIV/AIDS global threat so as, “to see what supplementary work we could do to further assist the government of Sierra Leone”.
Dr Adolf Diefenhardt stated that, “there is need to look at the work done so far and to familiarize ourselves with the work that has to be done and to look at possible way forward”.
The health minister stressed the important role GLRA had played to the government and the country especially in the area of health care and socio- economic activities for “both leprosy and TB patients.”
The two-man team, which included the health advisor Babara Oberhauser, is also expected to visit various places of interest including Lakka hospital, the Connaught chest clinic and reference laboratory and the waterloo district observed treatment service (DOTS) centre.
