International artistes to thrill Sierra Leone

In what looks like a who-is-who in the music business, Sierra Leoneans will be thrilled by a list of celebrated international artistes and models on the 31 December.
“The festival is being organized to begin a positive image building, internationally promoting Sierra Leone to boost tourism and infrastructural development” said Nasser Hyjazy, the project Director of Rugged.
“Rugged” is the music production and entertainment company who, in collaboration with Premier Media, will be staging the first ever music festival for charity at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.
Attending the festival are Dawn Richards who is representing P Diddy, Kaone winner of the face of Africa, Mathew Mensah manager of Naomi Campbell whose attendance is to search for the first model from Sierra Leone to take international, and to find the first clothing range to feature in a major clothing retailer in the UK.
Scheduled to perform are internationally acclaimed artists such as the ‘Princess of Africa’ Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Angie Brown and South Africa’s explosive R&B singer Lungi and various A-list artists from USA and UK.
Rugged believes that the event and the world coverage it generates will draw attention to the potential for development and investment that will lead to job creation for Sierra Leoneans.
Nasser said the event would be covered by a number of broadcasters including MTV Base, MTV Base Africa, OBE, The African Channel, SABC, CNN and Al Jazeera.
He said the show would include stand-up comedy, dance, live music, belly-dancing, an exclusive star studded fashion show and entertainment by a breath-taking dance troupe.
Rugged specializes in the production of superior and unique quality of contemporary sounds across a variety of genres, including pop RnB, dancehall and reggae.
They also organize entertainment activities and fund-raising for charity.
Nasser said proceeds from the festival would be used to build foot-bridges, public toilets and other infrastructural development in the country
