Title: Communications Officer - Freetown

Location: Freetown, Sierra Leone
West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Program (WA BiCC) is funded by USAID West Africa and implemented by Tetra Tech ARD. The Program, through PCI-Media Impact, one of its sub-contracted partners, plans to recruit a full term Communications Officer who will be based with the WA BiCC Technical Team in Freetown to support the implementation of communications activities.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Communications Officer shall include but not be limited to the following:
Support the design, planning and delivery of Entertainment-Education trainings and workshops for relevant partners and stakeholders
Support the development, scriptwriting, translation, recording, testing, broadcasting, and evaluation of radio drama programs in the Program’s intervention sites
Additional tasks may be assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in Communication for Development (C4D), entertainment-education and social marketing
Experience in film, video and audio production
2-5 years of experience doing C4D work in West Africa at the community level
Experience in using new digital media, as well as traditional media in West Africa
Language skills
Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required. Fluency in other widely spoken African languages would be an advantage.
