The secretary of the Association said that the two-day Eastern Region Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Championship featuring four male clubs (Daramy Stars, After Work, Kamboi Spikers and Koquima United) and four female clubs (Kamboi Spikers, Koquima United, After Work and Daramy Stars) was a ground breaking event in Eastern Region as beach volleyball was played in Kailahun for the first time in the history of the sport in the country. Benson Bawoh said that Kamboi Spikers and After Work were crowned as champions in the volleyball category for men and women respectively and Daramy Stars male and Kamboi Spikers women won the Beach Volleyball event respectively. The champions and runners up are expected to represent Eastern Region at the National Volleyball Championship, which will feature eight teams per gender with two teams each per region and gender in the finals.
