Like a new chic in town, Chicken Town is one of most elegant fast food chill out joint in Freetown. This pilot franchise Restaurant was officially opened on Thursday at Brookfields, Old Railway Line opposite China House. Project Director, Truestone Impact Investment Management, Benji Jackson explained that Chicken Town is a partnership between Truestone investment and A Call To Business. He further explained that Truestone is an impact investment business so we want to provide finance and build profitable business in Sierra Leone which have positive social impact. We believe business is the most sustainable form of creating a positive social impact, because you create something that makes a profit, it provides jobs that are sustainable and do not depend on charitable income. We’ve actually started about seven different businesses in Sierra Leone. The first was ACTB Micro Finance Bank, and then we have some other businesses as part of the group including Life By Design, A media Company and we have a poultry farm and this is the next business we saw a market for and an opportunity to start something creative in Sierra Leone and something that fit in with our current businesses. The poultry farm would eventually supply the restaurant franchises the chicken. The idea is that they are intending to spread the franchise across Sierra Leone and West Africa. There are three key elements to this restaurant the first is vibe, the ambiance, the quality of the product and service which we’ve done fantastic job. We’ve been training staff to give the best customer service in Sierra Leone. We would be adding to the menu. We would have a special recipe so when you test Chicken Town chicken you will know it’s Chicken Town chicken. ACTB David Kamara said that they are trying to build the capacity to ensure that it operates 24 hours round the clock.  He explained that there are packages at affordable rate which cut across the different segments.
